Red Lava Stone

Red Lava Stone

Red Lava Stone is a porous volcanic rock with a deep rust-red colour and a rough, pitted surface. It is remarkably light for its size, which makes it useful for building height in a layout without loading the tank floor.

The stone is riddled with pores that beneficial bacteria colonise readily, so it works as well hidden under the substrate as a base layer as it does on display. Shrimp keepers like it for the same reason — the crevices give shrimplets somewhere to graze and hide.

Inert, so it will not shift pH or hardness. Rinse before use. Every piece is hand-picked and shapes vary.
