Rotala Florida Sunset

Rotala Florida Sunset is a variegated rotala with cream and pink marbling running through green leaves — the variegation is the point, and it holds best on new growth.

Because the variegated tissue carries less chlorophyll, this plant grows slower and needs more light than a standard rotala to keep its colour. It does best in a high-tech setup with CO2 and consistent dosing; under low light the new growth reverts toward plain green.

• Lighting: medium to high
• Temperature: 72–82°F (22–28°C)
• CO2: recommended
• Position: midground to background
